Is it possible for a computer virus to jump hosts and infect a human?

It happened with bird flu and mad cow. Why can't it happen with a computer virus too? I've been feeling ill lately so should I give my computer a rest just in case?

20. No. A computer virus is just lines of malicious code. It cannot harm a human being - biologically. It may hurt your psychologically, because you become really frustrated that you've caught a virus in your computer. You must be either getting the flu or allergies.

31. A computer "virus" is not actually a virus. It's a program that is capable of replicating itself and "infecting" computer systems. It does what it is programmed to do, from stealing information to overloading your processor. Regardless of what it does, all viruses are essentially a collection of one's and zeros that tell the computer to do something. Unless a computer virus somehow develops the ability to replicate itself as a biological entity or you are some king of cyborg, you cannot catch it from your computer.
